OPIN is looking for young people to drive social change in Europe by participating in their pilot test in Trieste and Koper. Using the OPIN platform and tools, young people between the ages of 15 and 34 will interact with local policy makers to create policy proposals and action plans for a better quality of life.
The Trieste-Koper Youth Lab will be run by locally recruited Young Community Managers, who will gather ideas and proposals from 15-34-year-olds in the community using OPIN.me, online platforms such as Adhocracy and smartphone applications like Flashpoll. Working together, they will design policies and services that truly respond to their needs, transforming proposals into concrete action plans. These plans will be discussed with local public administrations for feedback, creating an interactive, iterative process that will lead to more responsive and participatory government and which will give young people a stronger voice in the community.
This cross-border pilot project, led by an independent Italian research institute (ISINNOVA), aims at training young community managers, who will then implement new youth-relevant policies in co-operation with their local administrations. To do so OPIN and EUth tools will be used.
